Lions Park clubhouse destroyed in fire

Thick-black smoke filled the air, which could be seen from most parts of town

The old Lions Park clubhouse was destroyed by a fire this morning (February 9). How the fire started is unknown at this stage.

Thick-black smoke filled the air, which could be seen from most parts of town.

The Ladysmith Fire Department and Public Safety responded, but couldn’t enter as the road was blocked with huge rocks.

They went in on foot to make sure the fire wouldn’t spread or harm anyone.

The fire was left to burn out on its own.

The clubhouse was an old railway coach which was used by the Lions members as a place for their meetings and if any other Lions members from around the country visited.
