The cattle kraal near the pedestrian bridge that runs over the N11 (Newcastle road) has been rebuilt, much to the dismay of Model Kloof and Limit Hill residents.
The farm / business that sold cattle and goats has caused a huge stir among the residents of Model Kloof and Limit Hill. After complaints were laid by residents concerning the fact that it posed a health hazard and devalued their properties, council took it upon themselves to demolish the cattle kraal.

However, it was discovered that the decision to demolish the structures was premature and that the correct legal processes were not followed.
The municipality then had to rebuild the structures so that the correct legal procedures can now be followed.
“It seems like we are fighting a losing battle. As the community, we were happy to see the cattle kraal demolished. Then, to our surprise, we saw the kraal being rebuilt. We were all astonished that this could be happening again,” said confused resident Mr Dlamini.
“You don’t expect the municipality not to follow correct procedures,” added Mr Dlamini. He raised a concern of taxpayers’ money now being used to rectify a mistake made by council.
