Sewage in Aviary Hill is not for the birds

AVIARY HILL – Sewage running down Peacock Avenue in Aviary Hill was the unpleasant discovery of residents on Friday, January 27.

As the source of the leak was hidden among long grass, it could not be ascertained how long the spillage had been ongoing.

Strategic Director or Technical Services, Lindi Zincume said the leakage was caused by a blockage, which has been cleared.

“Additional work will be done, which will include using a jetting truck to clear the sewer lines. The team will also disinfect the site,” he promised.
