This year marks 100 years since the birth of Oliver Tambo, who was an anti-apartheid stalwart and a former President of the African National Congress (ANC).
The UKhahlamba Region, which the Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality falls under, was selected to celebrate his life and commitment to the anti-apartheid struggle and its values, both during his time in South Africa, and during his years in exile.
This past Saturday, a lecture on OR Tambo, delivered by the ANC Secretary General Gwede Mantashe, was hosted at the Wembezi Community Hall.

Mr Mantashe was accompanied by Regional Secretary Sipho Hlomuka and Provincial Secretary S Zuma. The lecture touched on the qualities and characteristics of a leader of the ANC who must have necessary capabilities of implementing the policies of the party and the state.
