A huge pothole at the corner of Harrismith Road and Francis Road has caused major confusion among motorists.
One of the lanes in Harrismith Road has been closed near the intersection with Francis Road and a Public Safety traffic barrier put up to ensure that motorists do not drive through the pothole, as this might damage their vehicles.
This has resulted in havoc and confusion, as motorists are left having to change lanes at the last minute when they become aware of the barrier.

The pothole and the barrier are in the left-hand lane coming down Harrismith Road towards San Marco Centre, making it difficult for motorists who want to turn into Francis Road.
“A warning far ahead of the pothole would have done the job. I was driving in the left-hand lane and had to slam on my brakes before changing into the other lane at the traffic lights. This is dangerous, as I almost crashed into the vehicles in the other lane,” said an angry motorist.
The motorist also suggested that Public Safety should have just covered the pothole with sand until tar was put in to repair the road.
Motorists are urged to be on the lookout when driving down to the traffic lights and be aware of the barrier.
