Heavy rain has done wonders in raising the water levels in dams surrounding Ladysmith, especially Spioenkop.

The latest readings from Monday are incredibly positive, showing that the prayers of thousands of people have been answered.

Spioenkop Dam is on 101.1% full, from 77% which was the reading last week at the dam.

Woodstock Dam is on 110.4% full, from last when the dam was sitting on 85.5%.

The Driel Barrage Dam, which gets fed from the Tugela and Woodstock Dam and finally feeds into Spioenkop Dam, is on 87.2%, which dropped from last week’s level of 96.3%.

Sterkfontein Dam is on 77.5%. Many Ladysmith people visit this dam for fishing and recreation.
