Swimmers impress throughout KZN

Local swimmers have been making a splash at various events in the Province, including the Midmar Mile.
There was also the Newcastle Elite gala on January 28, where Cameron Meintjies finished third in the 100m freestyle, third in 50m fly, second in 100m breaststroke and fourth in 50m backstroke.
Robyn Murdey finished third in 100m freestyle, fifth in 100m breaststroke, third in 50m backstroke, fourth in 50m freestyle and third in 50m breaststroke.
Hayley Wentzel finished fourth in 50m fly, fourth in 100m fly, second in 50m freestyle and fourth in 50m breaststroke.
Liam Wentzel finished fourth in 50m breaststroke and third in 50m fly.
In the Uthukela Gala, held on February 4-5, the swimmers achieved the following:
Estiaan Botes finished second in 100m backstroke, first in 50m free, second in 200m individual medley (IM) first in 50m backstroke and second in 50m fly.
Robyn Murdey finished third in 100m freestyle.
Hayley Wentzel finished second in 200m IM and second in 59m freestyle.
Liam Wentzel finished seventh in 50m breaststroke and sixth in 50m freestyle
The following kids swam the Midmar Mile on February 11:
Estiaan Botes finished in 30:23 minutes.
Michael van der Merwe finished in 33:41 minutes.
Macgregor Stein finished in 34:09 minutes.
Gabby Carter finished in 34:11 minutes.
Aiden Carter finished in 35:56.
Hayley Wentzel finished in 37:22 minutes.
Amy Faith Stein finished in 44:44 minutes.
Mia Ehlers finished in 1:05:21.
Swimming coach, Sonja Bruyns, finished in 34:27 minutes.
