Three killed in head-on collision at Princess Park bridge

Three lives were taken in a head-on collision last night (Saturday).

The crash between a light motor vehicle and a bakkie was reported on the Princess Park bridge at about 10.15pm. According to a well-informed source, a young man had allegedly stolen a vehicle from the Estcourt Bowling Club shortly after 10pm on Saturday.

At 10.15pm, emergency services received a report of an accident at the Princess Park Bridge.

The head-on collision involved the reportedly stolen vehicle and a bakkie, whose occupants were an elderly couple.

The couple as well as the driver of the other vehicle died as a result of the injuries sustained from the impact of the accident.

The road was closed to traffic as the patients were removed from the vehicles and the scene cleared. This story will be updated when police confirm further details.
