Due to a municipal strike that took place today (March 22), people were warned to stay clear of Murchison Street.
According to the workers, they are unhappy that the municipality continues to out-source work to private contractors who then pay their employees peanuts.

The strikers were seen carrying sticks and singing ‘struggle songs’ as they marched down Murchison Street from the Public Safety offices to the other municipal offices to force non-striking workers to leave the building.
The large crowd has now dispersed and Murchison Street is clear.
