Residents of Rangoon Road in Leonardsville are furious about the long grass and reeds that have taken over the entire area.
Residents fear that the reeds and grass will attract criminal activity, as well as unwanted animals such as snakes.
The residents claim they have reported the matter to the municipality, asking them to come and cut the long grass and reeds, but nothing has been done.

“A lot of criminal activities take place because of these reeds, giving criminals a place to run and hide after doing their dirty deeds,” said IFP Councillor L Bhoobun.
“Not only is our problem the long reeds and grass, but the entire condition of Leonardsville is unbearable. There are potholes in almost every street and sewer bursts all over, but the municipality fails to hear our cries and up until today, nothing has been done in terms of fixing our problems,” stressed Cllr L Bhoobun.
Residents urge the municipality to cut the grass to ensure a safe and clean environment for all.
