Treverton athletes take to the track

The overall performance from the Treverton team was commendable and they managed to grab eight medals at the event

Treverton athletes took part in the KZN Youth and Junior Athletics Champs at Kings Park Stadium in Durban on March 10 and March 11 in the u17 and u19 age groups.

Bronze:
Bophelo Seoe -100m u19.
Silver:
Travis van der Westhuyzen – High Jump u17.
Luzuko Mahlati – Triple Jump u17.
Bophelo Seoe – Long Jump u19.
Gold:
Lusanda Ngejane – Discus u19.
Siphosethu Ngcobo – Triple Jump u17 (still u16).
Brooke Cunha-Johnson – Javelin u19.
Bophelo Seoe – Triple jump u19.
Other noteworthy achievements:
Sanda Gwamanda – fourth Javelin u17. Lefika Pule – fifth Javelin u17.
Luzuko Mahlati – fourth High Jump u17. Amy Fisher – fourth discus u17 (this being her first championship).

Treverton athletics coach, Rianne Botha said that the intermittent showers on Friday made it tricky for some of the athletes, however they dug deep and made their school proud.
