Alfred Duma Local Municipality, in conjunction with Standard Bank, held an official hand-over of two houses that were donated to two families in Ward 20.
Councillors and municipal officials, as well as the two families receiving the houses, gathered at the Town Hall for the hand-over ceremony.
After the formal address was complete, they all went out to the houses to cut the ribbons and officially hand them over to the respective families.

The houses were donated to two deserving families after one family had their previously-owned house burned down and the other family did not have a house at all.
“This gathering is a heartwarming occasion and we are happy to see that these families will now have proper roofs over their heads. As the municipality, we would like to pass our thanks to Standard Bank, who made this all possible by donating these houses to well-deserving families,” said Alfred Duma Municipality Speaker Themba Ngubane.
Both the Vilakazi and Mazibuko families were delighted to receive new houses and expressed words of gratitude.
“I would like to thank all stakeholders involved in the donation of the houses. Our special thanks goes to Standard Bank and Alfred Duma Municipality for making this possible and ensuring that we have a roof over our heads,” said a joyful Mrs Vilakazi.
