TENS of thousands of people across SA protested against President Jacob Zuma last Friday.
Locals, led by ward 9’s councillor, Alta de Kock, also took to the streets to make their voices heard.
These members of the public stood in front of the Klipkerk in a peaceful demonstration demanding that the president give up his seat.
“He has done enough, he needs to go!” these Vryheiders chanted as the motorists in favour gave a hoot of support while driving by.
“We stand against Zuma and the junk status,” said Cllr de Kock.

“I would like to say, ‘save South Africa for our future and that of our children’” – Linda de Jager.
“Control, Alt, Delete Zuma, that’s all I have to say” – Gezina van der Vyver.

Although Jacob Zuma’s position as president remains unscathed, there were talks of more protests this week.
The DA, EFF, Cope, United Democratic Movement and the African Christian Democratic Party will, on Wednesday, (April 12) embark on a mass march to the Union Buildings in protest of the current political crisis facing the country. They will be protesting in light of the recent cabinet reshuffle, which has seen the Rand tumble and the country’s economy reduced to junk status.
