Frustration is mounting for a resident in Acacia Street. A water leak, which started about a month ago, is now gaining momentum and the effects are starting to show.
The resident says that when the leak was first spotted weeks ago, he contacted uThukela District Municipality and reported it.
Despite numerous attempts to liaise with local and Ladysmith-based staff from the district municipality, the water leak flows on. Damage to the road surface has become visible and the resident says that the water is seeping into his yard.
“There was an uThukela van in the street last week and I asked them to please fix the leak. They said yes but never came back. My yard is in a bad state because of the water,” commented the resident.
