Experts are seeing a serious increase of the cryptolocker virus in South Africa. In 90% of the reported cases, the clients do not have sufficient backups to restore all their data.

The Cryptowall Virus has hit over 1 million computers worldwide since being reported. Authorities have not been able to arrest Evgeniy Mikhailovich Bogachev (also known as “Slavik”), the creator of the virus.
The FBI has issued a reward of $3m for his arrest.

Data recovery and recapture could cost your company several hundred thousand rand, depending on the amount of data to be recaptured and the physical and electronic records you have at your disposal.
Make sure you keep all computer data, like client lists, backed up.
