He tells the Ladysmith Gazette that the first time travelling was very exciting for him, but also scary

33-year-old Andre Tredoux has visited many places around the world and shares all his great experiences with us…

He was born in Namibia in a town called Tsumeb. He, together with his family, moved to South Africa when he was very young. Andre moved to Ladysmith when he was 16 years old and is still living here.

When he matriculated, he went to England.

He started working in the military and was sent to Iraq. He also visited France and Belgium to learn about military history in World War I and II. The military then sent him to Canada.

After all his training, he returned to South Africa, where he did some courses and then did sub-contracting for Anti Piracy companies that took him to Egypt, Yemen, Oman, UAE, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Tanzania and the Comoros.

He tells the Ladysmith Gazette that the first time travelling was very exciting for him, but also scary.

Now he is used to it. During all his visits around the world, he has tasted many different foods and met a lot of people who turned into great friends.

“I loved every moment of it and am still looking forward to visiting more countries and cities. Life is short, so enjoy every moment of it,” says Andre.
