BUDGET: The Newcastle Municipality is on the road again

Mayor, Makhosini Nkosi addressed the audience and shed light on the IDP budget.

The municipal Budget Roadshow kicked of on Wednesday, April 26 at Richview Civic Hall in Lennoxton.

Ward committee members, the Intergrated Development Plan (IDP) representative forum, traditional healers and other stakeholders were present at the meeting.

Mayor, Makhosini Nkosi addressed the audience and shed light on the IDP budget.

“We need to set targets for ourselves and have a clear vision of where Newcastle is going,” he said.

On the cards is the handover of road projects in the Newcastle area such as Dicks Halt and Charlestown.

The public is encouraged to attend roadshows to engage constructively with their ward councillors and committee members.

“Newcastle is an economic hub in Northern KwaZulu-Natal and we play a vital role in the country,” concluded Cllr Nkosi.
