NHS: Sthembiso Thusi selected for International Science Olympiad

The International Science Olympiad will be held in Indonesia from July 16 to July 24.

Sthembiso Thusi, a Grade 11 learner at Newcastle High School, was recently selected to participate in the International Phsyical Science Olympiad.

This comes after he took part in the Physical Science Olympiad Selection Test in January.

The level of work at the International Physical Science Olympiad is of a higher standard than matric level, and Sthembiso was among the five learners selected for the South African Physics Team.

However, the International Science Olympiad will be held in Indonesia from July 16 to July 24, and will cost R30 000. This amount has to be paid by the learner as soon as possible.

Presently, NHS is looking for sponsorships to assist Stembiso to participate.

If anyone can assist, they are encouraged to contact NHS on 034 312 6048.
