Wembezi community helps police curb crime

The seized drugs weighed 45kgs and has an estimated street value of about R68 000

Last Tuesday, Wembezi residents tipped off police about dagga being kept at a premises in the Zwelisha area.

Visible policing officers followed up on the tip-off and found a 27-year-old female at the premises.

After a search, police recovered seven bags of dagga. The seized drugs weighed 45kgs and has an estimated street value of about R68 000.

Facing charges of being in possession of dagga, the woman appeared before the Estcourt Magistrate’s Court the following day.
