Prefects at Eventide
The prefects did their bit in terms of service to the community by visiting the residents at Eventide, home for the old aged. There were many cheers and smiles as songs were sung, goodie bags were handed out and cupcakes were served. The prefects unanimously decided that they would love to spend an afternoon with the elderly and thoroughly enjoyed the visit.
Sport vs Utrecht
Woensdag, 24 Mei, het ons spanne teen Utrecht gespeel en ongelooflike resultate opgelewer.
Girls Hockey: The u/14s and a mixed senior team took on Utrecht’s u/15s and first team. The u/14s won 2-0 and the senior team won 2-1.
Netbal: Die meisies het ‘n baie interessante ervaring gehad toe hulle op gras gespeel het, maar het nogtans goed gedoen. Die o/15s het 13-5 gewen en die 1ste span het 35-2 gewen.
Rugby: The rugby had excellent results. The u/15s won 55-10 and the second team won 22-7.
Sport vs Amajuba
Girls Hockey: On Saturday, the second team travelled to Amajuba to play their first team. The girls came home 3-2 victors. The first team played a friendly exhibition game against previous first team girls. It was an exciting game with the current Spartans winning 2-1. It was a truly a wonderful experience seeing the field covered in red, black and white. Thank you to everyone who came to support and the old players for taking to the field again.
Netbal: Die o/14As het 5-20 verloor, die o/14Bs het 6-15 verloor, die o/16As het 32-12 gewen en die 1ste span het ‘n uitstekende wedstryd gehad en het 60-3 gewen.
Rugby – DHS played good rugby on Saturday. The u15s managed to win 50-26 but the 2nd team unfortunately lost 18-15.
Girls Hockey Trials
Congratulations to Gabby Carter, Abigail Box, Nontu Khuzwayo and Tamarah Grierson who have been chosen to represent the u/16 KZN Country District team. The girls will be playing in a tournament in Witbank over the holidays.
