Viljoen sussies maak Sarel Cilliers trots!

Die skool is baie trots op hulle twee en wens hulle baie sterkte toe met al die ekstra oefensessies op Sondae in Pietermaritzburg.

Georgia Viljoen, die hoofmeisie en Kaptein van die eerste hokkiespan is gekies vir die o/18 KwaZulu-Natal se Country en Distrikte span. Sy gaan tydens die vakansie in Pietermaritzburg teen ander provinsies deelneem. Haar sussie, Liezel Viljoen, wat saam met haar in die eerste hokkiespan is, is weer gekies vir die o/16 KwaZulu Natal Country en Distrikte span wat gedurende die vakansie in Witbank gaan deelneem. Die skool is baie trots op hulle twee en wens hulle baie sterkte toe met al die ekstra oefensessies op Sondae in Pietermaritzburg.
Sport against Vryheid High School
Netbal
Op Saterdag 27 Mei het Sarel Cilliers se netbalspanne met Hoërskool Vryheid kragte gemeet. Die 0/14A span het hulself onderskei en na ‘n opwindende wedstryd 20-11 gewen.
Londeka Mhlongo stopped many a ball during the first team match. Bongeka Manyathi and Ngo Moetenalo played extremely well and their team also won their game. The scores were as follows: u/14A 20-11, u/14B 10-29, u/15A 11-19, u/15B 5-29, u/16A 15-17, u/16B 8-21, 1st team 30-16.
Rugby
Sarel Cilliers took on Vryheid High School on May 27 on their fields and played exceptionally well, despite valiant efforts from the home team. The scores were as follows: u/14 lost 15-12, u/15 won 12-3, u/16 drew 12-12, and the second team won 34- 0. The first team had a flying start to their match and physically outclassed their opponents comprehensively by 50-7. Well done to all of the boys for their discipline and commitment on and off the field. Never surrender.
Hokkie
Met hul aankoms in Vryheid was dit omtrent mistig, gelukkig het die son gou sy verskyning gemaak. Die eerste meisie hokkiespan het 1-1 gelykop gespeel met Georgia wat die doel aangeteken het. The u/14 hockey girls had a brilliant game, but unfortunately lost 1-0 and the u/16 team lost 2-1. The second hockey team girls won 2-0. Congratulations!
Chess
Sarel Cilliers High School’s chess team took on Vryheid High School on Saturday, May 27. Sarel’s team was unfortunately not at full strength as the top four players could not participate on the day. That being said, they took nothing away from Vryheid who won the day 6-5. Sarel congratulates Vryheid on their win.
