The Estcourt Knitting Club members paid Shepstone Place Home for the Aged a very warm and welcome visit last Thursday.

With warm smiles, they gifted the elderly, fingerless gloves to keep the grip of winter at bay.

Each pair of gloves was knitted with love and packaged with a small treat of chocolate for the grandfathers and hand and nail cream for the grannies.

The club members were met with hugs and smiles of gratitude for the kind gesture. Last year the knitting club made bed socks, this year they handed out gloves and the seniors have decided that next year, it will be woollen hats.

On a mission to ensure all the residents of Shepstone Place are warm this winter, the club members made door-to-door visits at the home and cottages to ensure everyone received a pair of gloves.

The donation will help keep the residents a bit cosier.
