St Thomas Parish building gutted
The building was damaged extensively before the flames could be put out.

The St Thomas Parish building on the corner of Landdrost and Boeren Streets was gutted in a blaze this afternoon.
The Vryheid Neighbourhood Watch, Working on Fire and members of the community assisted to put out the blaze when it became clear that AbaQulusi fire-fighters could not cope.
It is believed that the fire started in the kitchen. However, will only be confirmed once an investigation is complete.
The building was damaged extensively before the flames could be put out.

Fortunately, there wasn’t anybody in the building when it caught fire and nobody was hurt.
