Community adds their voices to national anti-violence campaign

Community members were involved in creating awareness and sensitising residents about the senseless killing of innocent women and children

As support for the protection of women and children grows across the country, more and more locals are adding their voices.

To commemorate Youth Day on June 16 and to also condemn violence against women and children, a march was held at Mathamo Primary School.

Community members were involved in creating awareness and sensitising residents about the senseless killing of innocent women and children.

Nokuthula Ndlovu from the Social Development Department and Ward Councillor from Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality Sthembiso Vilakazi were guest speakers.

“It was a coincidence to find out that a woman and her daughter were found brutally murdered that morning at their house near the school. It became a very emotional event,” said organiser Ms MA Gcaba.

Thanks go to Ms MA Gcaba who shared her vision with educators and the community at large. The march was a huge success!
