Driver of vehicle flees scene after crash

Residents from the area say that motorists always speed on the gravel roadway

A vehicle from the Department of Transport crashed yesterday afternoon (July 20) on the Hobsland Road.

The cause of the crash is unknown at this stage.

It is alleged that the driver of the vehicle fled in another vehicle before emergency personnel arrived on the scene of the crash.

The bakkie was seen lying upside down on the side of the road.

Residents from the area say that motorists always speed on the gravel roadway and this has caused numerous accidents and also claimed the lives of many people.

Pedestrians and even a cyclist have lost their lives on the Hobsland Road due to vehicles traveling at high speed, said a resident.
