Vryheid Voëlklub hosts spectacular SA Bird Show

With birds of all colours, great and small, bird watchers from far and wide visited Cecil Emmett Hall on Thursday last week to be enchanted by the pride and joy of breeders from all around South Africa.

The Vryheid Voëlklub brought yet another amazing show to Vryheid this year.

With birds of all colours, great and small, bird watchers from far and wide visited Cecil Emmett Hall on Thursday last week to be enchanted by the pride and joy of breeders from all around South Africa.

The winners for the different categories were: African Avery- M Webber (Vryheid), Bengalese – B Vermeulen (Virginia), Border Canary- P Kemp (Krugersdorp), Fife Fensy Canary- Mrs E Van Rensburg (Gauteng), Fiorino Frill Canary- H Van der Merwe (Henneman), Foreign Aviary Bird- Mossy Webber (Vryheid), Gloster Canary- S Erasmus (Pretoria), Gouldian- G Schellack (Gauteng), Hybrid Aviary – Ellen de Bruyn (Kimberly), Lizard Canary- H van Rensburg (Gauteng), Mule Aviary- Ellen de Bruyn (Kimberly), Colour Canary- W Storbeck (Krugersdorp), North Dutch Frill Canary- K Craffert (Vryheid), Norwich Canary- C Weitz (Bloemfontein), Parision Frill Canary- A Barnard (Vryheid), Parrot- H Annandale (Vryheid), Red Factor Canary- P Gouws (Gauteng), Roller Canary- R Peterson (Cape Town), South African Aviary Birds- T Oats (East Rand), Stafford Canary- W Marais (Bloemfontein), Yorkshire Canary- C Weitz (Bloemfontein, Zebra Finch- M De Villiers (Rooderport).

Other winners from Vryheid were D Uys, F Du Preez, P Du Toit, D Norval, A Van Schalkwyk, C Lourens and M Scheepers.
