#WackyWedneday: Are you living in an alternate dimension?

The term, Mandela Effect was coined by an American paranormal consultant by the name of Fiona Broome.

The late former president, Nelson Mandela, played a major role in the world, especially in South Africa.

But what if I told you there was a conspiracy theory named after the iconic man we fondly remember as Madiba?

Don’t believe me? Have you ever shared a memory with other people, then discovered it didn’t really happen? If so, you have experienced the Mandela Effect.

This phenomenon is when thousands of people with no relation to each other have the exact same collective mis-remembering of the same event. The term, Mandela Effect was coined by an American paranormal consultant by the name of Fiona Broome.

Broome became aware of the phenomenon after discovering she shared the false memory of Nelson Mandela dying in prison during the 1980s, whereas he actually died in 2013. It was then she began noticing other examples, which she shared on her website.

However, here are five examples of the Mandela Effect.

1. Pikachu’s tail doesn’t have a black mark

Pikachu has to be one of most iconic Pokemon characters. Yet several Pokemon fans seem to remember Pikachu sporting a black mark on his tail. If you do, then you have experienced the Mandela Effect. His tail is only yellow.

2.   Remember the Berenstein Bears?

If you do, then I have a surprise for you. You spelled their name wrong. It is actually, The Berenstain Bears. Creepy, right?

3. Mirror, Mirror on the wall, I think I made a boo-boo

Whoever watched Disney’s Snow White, will clearly remember Snow White’s evil stepmother going to her magical mirror and saying, “Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?”

But, what if I told you that is wrong? The correct line is “Magic mirror on the wall.”

4. Luke, I am your father

This has to be one of the most famous lines never said. While a lot of t-shirts and other memorabilia sport this iconic line, Darth Vader never said it. His actual line was, “No, I am your father.”

5. You never saw Sarah Jessica Parker in Sex in the City

Why? Because that was not the name of the series. The correct name of the series was Sex and the City.
