Mad about maskandi music
Sboniso was informed that he was nominated in South African Traditional Music Awards (SATMA) for best new comer
27-year-old Sboniso Duma, who is greatly influenced by the likes of the king of 21st century maskandi Khuzani and Mgikilwa, has released his fourth album titled “Ninenkinga bam.”
The maskandi artist is known in the music space as Nkinga. With so many genres of music in the country; maskanda (or maskandi) is still very popular and has a rather huge following. This type of music is a variation of Zulu folk.
Sboniso resides in Sahlumbe in Weenen, and says he loved music from an early age. He only really started developing his music in 2009.
His daily routine is made up of blending music and motivational speaking.
Sbonsio has three other albums titled niDinga uDayi, in 2013 he released Abahlukunyezwa and during 2015, Nidla amaZondo was released.
While promoting his fourth album, Sboniso was informed that he was nominated in South African Traditional Music Awards (SATMA) for best new comer.

The SATMAs was founded in 2006 and is the largest traditional music awards and the only ‘one of its kind’ on the African continent.
Sboniso hopes that more brands contribute to the development of traditional music in this country.
The awards will be held in Mafikeng in the North West on July 29. He was very excited to get this news and has requested that fans to vote for him.
“You can vote for me by sending an SMS with the keywords: SATMA best newcomer Nkinga to 34066,” he explained.
Each SMS will cost R1,50. The artist is very passionate about maskandi and hopes to fly the Weenen flag high at the awards ceremony.
