We all need an extra boost to help get us through the week ahead.

 

Here are five quick, easy and delicious smoothie recipes to help boost you through the Monday madness:

Raspberry and nut smoothie:

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup low fat milk
  • 3/4 cup frozen raspberries
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1 tablespoon natural almonds or peanut butter (your preference)
  • 1 tablespoon honey

Directions: Place all ingredients into a blender, and voila! Breakfast on the run.

Ginger, berry and oat smoothie:

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup oats
  • 1/2 cups frozen blueberries or strawberries
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 1/2 cup ice
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon grated fresh ginger

Directions: Place the oats and 1/2 cup water in a blender and let it soak for about 15 minutes.

Add the rest of the ingredients and blend until smooth and frothy.

Strawberry and banana smoothie:

Ingredients:

  • 250g strawberries
  • 1 medium banana, peeled and chopped
  • 300 ml low-fat milk
  • 150 ml plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons clear honey

Directions: Mix all ingredients in a blender, serve and enjoy!

Apple pie smoothie:

Ingredients:

  • 4 ice cubes
  • 1 banana, peeled and chopped
  • 1 cup unsweetened apple sauce
  • 1/2 non-fat vanilla yogurt
  • 1/2 cup apple juice
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon allspice

Directions: Blend all the ingredients together, and taste a small piece of heaven on earth.

Banana and oatmeal smoothie:

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup oatmeal
  • 5 tablespoons non-fat vanilla yogurt
  • 1/2 frozen banana
  • 1 ice cube

Directions: Blend together until smooth and frothy.
