Youth friendly services programme introduced at Zwelisha Clinic

If you reside in the Zwelisha area and is interested in the services that counsels youth on social ills, ask to speak any one of the nurses on duty

The Zwelisha Clinic held a meeting with their stakeholders to introduce the Adolescent Youth Friendly Service (AYFS) programme that has been rolling out.

Miss Cindy Khanyile, the enrolled nurse at the clinic has been appointed the AYFS champion. After she addressed the attendees the planning process was discussed. She was impressed with the interest the departments showed.

The stakeholders agreed to assist where possible as they welcomed this much needed programme.

“I love working with the youth and I’m looking forward to this programme as we do have an issue of abuse and teenage pregnancy in the area. This will help a lot,” said Miss Khanyile with excitement.

She went on to thank the management team, Mrs ZE Mhlanga, Clinic Supervisor TR Phungula and GroundBreaker Miss Phume Hadebe who have been very helpful with the programme thus far.

The clinic has a Happy Hour from 2.30pm to 3.30pm every day during the week. There is also a chill room, which is always vacant for the youth. Teens from the age of 10 to youth aged 24 are welcome to seek the friendly help. You can enquire about the AYFS programme at a clinic near you.
