A heart and body warming treat for newborns
The sisters have been knitting and crocheting baby jerseys, hats and bootees to donate to the Dundee Provincial Hospital

The sisters of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints are making a difference in the lives of newborn babies in the area and are encouraging others to do the same.
The sisters have been knitting and crocheting baby jerseys, hats and bootees to donate to the Dundee Provincial Hospital to welcome new babies into the community as part of their Helping Hands initiative.
However, the hospital informed the sisters that on average, more than 1 000 babies are born there each year. Sadly, the group cannot meet that demand and have asked the community to assist.
The aim of the project is to ensure that each newborn baby leaves the hospital with one new item. In some families, the second child only receives second hand clothes. This way, they would have a new item, something just for them.
The sisters are calling on people to donate baby items towards the cause but donations of wool are also welcome. A collection box will be set up at the municipality, where items can be dropped off.
Willing helpers can also contact Susan de Klerk on 073 315 7073 if they need the items or wool to be collected.
