‘Twee Tjops’ provide hope for those in need

Parcels of cosmetics, toiletries, sling bags, stationary and school shoes were then handed out to the children of Amajuba High School on Friday, August 25.

Every year Johan Basson and Armand Myburgh; aka Twee Tjops, participate in the 51km Memel Blood Buddy Walk, as an initiative to raise funds for their community projects.

And this year they’ve done it again!

Dressed in not much more other than their black Speedos and socks, sporting a custom built cooler box and their team mascot “Gearbox”, they endured the chilly, early morning mist as they walked their way back to Newcastle from Memel.

As part of their initiative, Amajuba High School was their beneficiary of choice, as they had been made aware of the fact that the school accommodated 43 children in need of every day necessities.

Parcels of cosmetics, toiletries, sling bags, stationary and school shoes were then handed out to the children of Amajuba High School on Friday, August 25.

Together with the help of Thusong Projects as well as Vesco, the team raised enough money to help the school with not only their necessities, but with a few cans of paint to upgrade the school’s playground.

“The smiles on those children’s faces was something I cannot explain, and it makes me so happy to know that I could help those in need. I was definitely worth the pain and sunburn,” said Myburgh.

Myburgh thanked Thusong Projects and Vesco for helping them in making a difference in the lives of others.

“A big thank you to Champ Marketing for hosting this event every year, and for giving us the opportunity to help these children,” he said with a happy grin.
