Many people in Ladysmith are asking the question: “Are prostitutes taking over Forbes Street?”
According to motorists and residents in the area, our town’s “ladies of the night” are seen everywhere in this street as they trawl for customers.
They wait on the street corner, as well as walk around the area in search of “prey”. They even form groups and wait together to make money for the night.

“It is very uncomfortable when we have our family in our vehicle. We have to look at these women, who are practically naked to lure men,” said one upset motorist.
Another motorist, who asked not to be named, told the Ladysmith Gazette that many of the prostitutes are young girls who look like they are still at school.
“We noticed that they don’t make fires anymore in this area, because it’s warmer now, but this street is still in a mess. Why don’t the police do something about this?” added the motorist.
