Newcastle Siva Subramanian Temple to host Annual Navaratri Prayers

The Newcastle Siva Subramanian Temple will be observing the Navaratri Celebrations from September 21 to September 29.

The celebrations will be held at the temple from 6pm daily.

Navratri, interpreted as ‘nine nights’ is the most celebrated Hindu festival devoted to Goddess Durga, symbolising purity and power, or ‘shakti’.

The Navratri festival combines ritualistic puja and fasting, and is accompanied by resplendent celebrations for nine consecutive days and nights.
