The Uthukela Cluster Task Team made three arrests and recovered guns, ammo and dagga over the weekend.
Acting on information received, officers attached to the Uthukela Cluster Task Team swooped on two premises in the Sahlumbe area of Weenen during the early hours of Sunday morning (October 15). They arrested two men, aged 47 and 48, for being in possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
Two 9mm pistols with 14 rounds of ammunition were recovered.
A third suspect was arrested in the Tugela Estates area after officers found him in possession of 28kg of loose dagga.

The recovered dagga weighed in at about 28kg and has an estimated street value of around R53,000.
All three men made an appearance in the Weenen Magistrate’s Court yesterday (October 16).
