An early morning raid in Weenen resulted in success for police on Sunday.

Officers from the Uthukela Cluster Task Team acted on information received and swooped on two premises in the Sahlimbe area.
A search produced two 9mm pistols and 14 rounds of ammunition.

Two men, aged 47 and 48, were arrested and charged for being in possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.

In the Tugela Estates area, a third person was arrested for possession of dagga.

Uthukela Cluster Task Team officers with the dagga recovered in Tugela Estates.

Police found the man with 28kgs of loose dagga, the estimated street value is R53 000. All three arrested men appeared in the Weenen Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
