Province’s most wanted were in Helpmekaar

They were found in possession of two unlicensed firearms and ammunition. Police also seized a suspected stolen vehicle.

Five of KZN’s most wanted men have been arrested in the Helpmekaar area.
The men, aged between 22 and 29, this week appeared in the Dundee Magistrate’s Court on charges of possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition as well as possession of suspected stolen property.
The men were arrested at a homestead on Sunday by police officers from the King Cetshwayo Crime Intelligence assisted by the Durban Special Task Force.
They were found in possession of two unlicensed firearms and ammunition. Police also seized a suspected stolen vehicle.
The KwaZulu-Natal Acting Provincial Commissioner, Major General Bheki Langa, praised police officers responsible for the arrest of some of KwaZulu-Natal’s most wanted suspects in the run-up to festive season operations.
“These dangerous criminals who have been evading police for a while were cornered while celebrating in the Helpmekaar area.
“These men are linked to a number of crimes such as murders, armed robberies, hijackings and rapes. We will also establish from our investigations if they are wanted for other crimes in the province,” he said.
