81-year-old Estcourt resident, Barry Erxleben and partner of four years, Sue Storbeck (68) hiked up and across Cape Town’s Table Mountain on October 19.

“At our age, having decided it’s what we want, I didn’t see the need to wait. We will have a civil ceremony and a celebration sometime soon,” said Mr Erxleben.

Together, the couple hiked seven hours up Kasteelepoort and later tied the knot in a service conducted by Mrs Erxleben’s son who is a Pastor in Ireland, via Skype with close family logging in.

The newlyweds went on honeymoon in Langebaan on October 25 on Mrs Erxleben’s birthday.
