Profiling: DJ Malagen on the decks

DJ Malagen is well-known for house music and enjoys making mixes for afro house, deep house and commercial house

Percival Lucky Sambo otherwise known as DJ Malagen is ready to blaze the music industry as an up and coming DJ. Raised in Wembezi and currently residing in Bergville, he completed his primary school education at Inkanyiso Primary and furthered his high school learning at both Bhekundi as well as Drakensberg Comprehensive High schools.

He has been in the music industry since 2010 and started out by producing and performing gospel music. The lad is not limited to being a DJ. He says that he is also a producer, song writer, photographer and does event management. His day job is a manager at a bed and breakfast establishment.

DJ Malagen is well-known for house music and enjoys making mixes for afro house, deep house and commercial house. He is ready to entertain any crowd with his music and mix tapes. Among the various artists he has shared a stage with are DJ Tira, Shimza, Ganyani, DJ Fresh, DJ Mpiloz, DJ Euphonik, DJ Sdoko, DJ Webster, Cassper Nyovest, Big Nuz and Ricky Rick.

DJ Malagen releases his productions under his own registered company – Malagen Production and Entertainment. He puts in lots of hard work when it comes to any project he gets involved in. With the aim of making his name known, he released his single album on November 4, entitled ‘Ngiyakuthanda’ featuring Mr Tee.

“It is currently available on data file host, YouTube and reverb nation and will soon be made available on all digital media platforms,” said DJ Malagen.

DJ Malagen is mostly proud of winning the Battle of DJs and being rated ‘Best DJ’ in his hometown. Although his album has just officially been released, his mixes have already been aired on radio stations like Nkomazi FM and Ugu Youth FM.
