Five people were killed and at least nine others injured in a truck accident near Nquthu on Sunday afternoon.

People travelling from a traditional ceremony between the Sitholes and Ngobeses were travelling from the Mfongonfongo area to the Ngwetshane area via Babanango Road when witnesses said the truck driver lost control of the vehicle that crashed.

Five people were declared dead on the scene and another nine injured.  An investigation is continuing into the cause of the accident.
