Unrest erupts after MEC for Transport, Community Safety & Liaison Mr Mxolisi Kaunda's taxi ban

It is unclear at this stage who are involved, but Matiwaneskop residents en-route to work yesterday morning (December 7) had their bus boarded by unknown men who ordered the residents off the bus. This is one of sporadic reports of intimidation that are beginning to filter through today.
It is being reported that, as of now, no buses have arrived in Matiwaneskop this morning.
Ezakheni is hardest hit by MEC for Transport, Community Safety & Liaison Mr Mxolisi Kaunda’s total ban on taxis in the Ladysmith area.
But no reports have filtered through of intimidation in Ezakheni.

We are trying to get more updated information on the intimidation. We have been informed by community members that the police were informed.
