Mayor, Jerry Sibiya, addressed all who attended, encouraging safe road habits like not drinking and driving and always wearing a safety belt.

“Let’s all join hands,” said Mayor Sibiya in his address to the crowd, “to make Vryheid a better place for all. To welcome the people that are going to visit Vryheid. I always say one thing,” he added, smiling proudly. “I know Vryheid residents behave themselves. The fatalities that we come across, you’ll find that those registrations are not from Vryheid…”

“We wish all of you and your families a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year…”

Speaker, Michael Khumalo, braved the elements to attend the roadshow, despite having flu and added, “Please look after yourselves…”

“May the good Lord be with you all,” concluded Mayor Sibiya.
