Verges sprout to new heights

Unsightly, overgrown verges dominated the sidewalks in Estcourt throughout the holiday period.

Residential and the central business district were not spared, as weeds and grass sprouted and grew tall all around us. Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality is responsible for maintaining and trimming grass on the sidewalks but yet again, this has been delayed.

The Estcourt News inquired from the municipality on January 2 about when the verges will be cut as well as the ‘plan of action’ and which areas will undergo this necessary maintenance.
No response was received by the local municipality at the time of going to print.
