Mayor wishes learners a good academic year

It is very crucial to ensure that at the beginning of this academic year, a positive mindset is the name of the game inside and outside the learning environment

Another school year is upon us! Vacations are over and it’s time to head back to school. It is time to revise lessons, stock up on school material, prepare for new classes, and reconnect with old friends.

Some learners are probably feeling excited, some of you may be little sad that the holidays are over and you may feel nervous and scared about going back to school because of all the new challenges that you will have to face.

The Mayor of Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality and the council would like to wish you all the best in your new grades and to those who will be doing their matric, you are expected to double the effort and hard work.

Learners must understand that learning isn’t just an in-class exercise, but that it also requires initiatives, effort and discipline outside the classroom.

They must echo the words of Stephen Covey: ‘Begin with the end in mind’.

Another fresh year at school is a chance to begin your life afresh, with new goals and new aspirations, a good beginning make a good ending. It is very crucial to ensure that at the beginning of this academic year, a positive mindset is the name of the game inside and outside the learning environment.

Knowledge is power, so welcome advice from both parents and educators. Best wishes as you are all set to go back to school. To all parents and guardians, understand that learning continues at home and look for ways to assist in encouraging and nurturing an atmosphere of both knowledge and wisdom for your children.

Give them time to study at home so that at the end of the year, they are awarded with good results. Be supportive of your children in every way.

Education is the key to unlock the locked door and is the only weapon, which we can use to change the world.
