Growing in numbers like an epidemic, potholes scar majority of Estcourt’s roads. In this instance, Mr Karrim is speaking about the potholed roads in Forderville.

He describes the road that runs from the top of Canna Avenue to the Siraatul Haq mosque as one of the busiest.

“People use this road five times a day to get to the mosque. The road is in a ridiculous condition. It is a danger,” he said.

Mr Karrim suggests that the local municipality invest its money into service delivery problems like repairing roads.

“They are wasting money placing a fence around the town library; we used the library for more than 50 years without a fence. Where is that money coming from?” questioned Mr Karrim.
