More fraud suspects caught
Residents are being robbed when buying items online. Thanks to quick action by the police, some victims fortunately received their money back.
VRYHEID SAPS’ tracing team continues the good work as two more fraud suspects have been arrested.
According to a report by the police, the women, who are from Jouberton and Carltonville, were arrested in connection with fraud cases that were reported in 2017.
The locals had been robbed through buying items online.
Both of the victims fortunately received their money back.

Both the women arrested were found to have been used by fraudsters as a front to do their dirty work.
The first woman is said to have given her neighbour her account number to use temporarily as he happened to not have a bank account.
The second, a student at Vaal university, had allegedly unknowingly given her number to her boyfriend and he had used this number for these fraudulent transactions.
Warrant Officer Jethro Khumalo urges community members to be very vigilant when buying items online as the internet scams are currently at an all time high due to the efficiency of online shopping.
