5 con artists scam Vryheid residents out of more that R90K

The 5 con artists that scammed Vryheid residents out of more that R90K have been brought to justice by our men in blue.

THE Vryheid tracing team is just about wrapping up their arrests of criminals that have been defrauding locals in the past few years.

On Wednesday last week, the tracing team brought down five suspects in connection with fraud cases that were opened between 2016 and 2017.

The suspects in question are believed to have swindled locals of more than R90 000 in cash.

The tracing tracked them down to Lawley Station (Lenasia), Doornkop (Dobsonville), Mofolo and Meadowlands.

All the accused made their first court appearance on March 8.

Vryheid SAPS Station commander Col BBC Ndlovu was very happy with the teams work and congratulated them on a job well done.

According to warrant officer Jethro Khumalo, the task was not easy but great work was done by the men in blue.
