UPDATE: Callous gunmen still at large as Vryheid police chase down false lead
A vehicle believed to be the same Mazda was stopped on the Natal Spa road after having been spotted by some locals
A red Mazda Sting, believed to be used as the getaway car in this morning’s armed robbers at Jaco’s Engineering was spotted on the Natal Spa Road in an air search.
A local business volunteered his services as a pilot an used his aircraft to survey the area late this morning.

Arriving on scene, this businessman contacted the SAPS who arrived on scene and made the ruling it was in fact not the right car.
The five men that made off in a red Mazda Sting after opening fire are still at large.
The Vryheid SAPS’ Captain Cheryl Venter said that some members of the police were still at the crime scene gathering evidence.
“The car has not been found yet. Our members are working hard putting together clues at the scene,” she said.
Captain Venter confirmed that the vehicle that was found was incorrect and went on to say that the police are still searching for the suspects.
