Investigation into armed robbery at farming supply business in Vryheid runs cold
Three men lay in wait for the security company's, Pro5, response vehicle, while the other four proceeded to the safe with explosives.
POLICE have no solid leads in the investigation of an armed robbery that took place at Valley View Farm Suppliers earlier this month.
Witnesses say that seven armed men were involved.
The robbers locked security personnel in a room, and then triggered the alarm when they were gaining entry to the building.

“When our guy got there, his vehicle was ambushed. They dragged him out of the vehicle at gunpoint and forced him to tell the radio operator that everything was fine on the site. They kept him at gunpoint until the robbers that were inside were finished,” said Pro5 manager, George Weber.
According to Vryheid SAPS, explosives were used to gain access to the safe and a large sum of money was taken, as well as the firearm from the Pro5 guard and the CCTV equipment.
