Motorists are warned to be on the lookout for a massive pothole near Stilwater on the Dundee / Vryheid road.

A motorist who was travelling along the Dundee road this morning, reported that due to the heavy rainfall, the pothole was really hard to see from a distance.

The Acting Chief Provincial Inspector for Vryheid’s Road Traffic Inspectorate (RTI), Nkanyiso Ndlozi, has confirmed that there is a massive pothole close to the Landbou School turnoff.

“Our main areas of concern at the moment are the Dundee and Melmoth roads. There is also a lot of mist in most of our routes. We advise motorists to switch on their head lights , not just their park lights, while driving,” said Mr Ndlozi.

He concluded by saying that motorists need to ensure their visibility at all times, reduce their speed and be on the lookout for livestock on the roads.
